I’ve been on this website since 2008 and I’ve never had a legitimate “about me” page, so since I’m procrastinating at the moment I’ve decided to finally make one. Don’t take anything TOO seriously, but most things will be factual.
My name is Darlene, I’m 16 years old, and a high school Junior. I’m terribly afraid of driving but I drive a stick-shift blue VW Beetle named Rowena (later nicknamed “The Blueberry.”) I’m a Pottermore sorted Ravenclaw (and a BETA tester, but I later erased my account because I hated the website) but consider myself really split between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. I’m probably just a Slytherin who likes knowledge. I’m bilingual (Spanish) and have taken three semesters of French but don’t remember anything except pamplamousse (grapefruit) and sous-titres (subtitles). I hate passive-agressive assholes, but I’m one of the biggest bitches out there (I just call it being honest, but people don’t like it…) I hate people who fangirl over television shows/novels/movies/fictional stuff. I’m sorry, it’s just annoying as hell. It’s one thing to LIKE a show, and just be annoying obsessed over it. I love photography and it’s what really sparked my internet obsession, my Flickr is right over here. I don’t post as often as I used to but it’s there.
I love to read and I own an e-reader (original Barnes & Noble Nook.) My favorite books include: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Fault in Our Stars, Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and the Boy Next Door, The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, Game of Thrones, Catching Fire, City of Glass, and Paper Towns. If anyone ever has any book suggestions, go right on ahead! I prefer young-adult fantasy, fantasy, adult fantasy, and adult fiction. But I’m open to all, as long as it’s not SUPER romance and just a stupid story line.
I’m a band geek! I played Bbclarinet all through middle school and freshmen year. I also did marching band for two seasons (8th grade and freshmen year) and I’ll be returning for junior year so get ready for rants/raves/anything.
I’m not the biggest television show person because I feel like I’m just wasting time laying there. But here are some of my total favorites: Lost, Fringe, Modern Family, Bones, New Girl, and MY LITTLE PONY. Yes I am a MLP fangirl. I actually collected ponies when I was younger, but I’d forgotten all about it until I rediscovered MLP: Friendship is Magic on Netflix. Don’t judge, the show is super cute and has some AMAZING messages in each episode. A great show for younger kids, and old as well! Some shows that I’ll randomly watch online/can’t finish watching because I haven’t finished the books/I only randomly watch include: True Blood, Game of Thrones, House, and Sherlock (the episodes are just too long.)
I LOVE SOCCER but the story hasn’t always been that way. When I grew up, my dad was obsessed (and still is) with soccer. He’d play all the time, watched it all the time, and essentially dedicated most of his free time to it. (He actually wanted to go pro, but my grandpa never allowed it.) Because of my childhood full of soccer I decided that I DIDN’T want anything to do with the sport. I “hated” it. It wasn’t until the second half of the season before the 2010 World Cup that the sport finally caught my attention. I started watching some Real Madrid games with my dad and eventually got into it. Then the World Cup came along and when it began I vowed to watch every game (it didn’t happen.) One day while going through Tumblr I came across a picture of Fernando Torres and FELL IN LOVE WITH HIS ADORABLE FACE. Thus began my era of obsession with the players. By the end of the Cup though I began to appreciate the actual game, and now two full seasons with Real Madrid I appreciate the game A LOT. My National Team of choice (lol, it SHOULD BE USA,) is Spain and Real Madrid is my favorite club (I was sort ofborninto it.) I have the WORLD’S BIGGEST soft spot on Liverpool FC, absolutely HATE Chelsea (Yes, Torres. You’re part of that,) and find that the German National Team is the cutest thing ever. I don’t always have the time/attention to watch every single game, but when I do I thoroughly enjoy it.
SO I GUESS THAT’S BASICALLY IT. I CAN’T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE, OTHER THAN I’M A BIGGGGGGGGGGG HUNGER GAMES FANGIRL, I JUST CAN’T CONTROL MYSELF AT TIMES.
